We all know that the user interface is important. As a designer, it's something you'll work on tirelessly to look great. A copywriter will also be involved to make sure the right words are used. We'll develop the site, using the great design and words provided.
However, in the process of building the website we need to keep asking 'what will the user think?'. A great easy-to-read book on the subject is Steve Krug's 'Don't make me think' which is well worth a read!
However, if that's not enough to enforce the need for user-focused interfaces, an article on User Interface Engineering will!
